SASI Head Coach Beach Volleyball

Role Highlights

Role Details

Reporting to the Manager, Sports and Programs and with functional direction from Volleyball Australia’s National Performance Director, the Head Coach Beach Volleyball is responsible for the day-to-day coaching for the assigned training squad(s) with Volleyball Australia and SASI’s high performance beach volleyball program ensuring that the program athletes are selected for National Teams and that athlete development and progression is in line with international best practice. In addition, the Head Coach Beach Volleyball will provide strong coordination to South Australia’s state development coaches and volleyball community and work closely with Volleyball Australia’s key high performance staff as part of a collaborative approach ensuring system alignment between the SASI’s resourcing and Volleyball Australia’s High Performance Beach Volleyball Program.

Special Conditions

  • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the Agency's Performance Management Program.
  • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • This role requires a Working with Children Check.
  • Proven experience and success at coaching podium success at senior international level at World Championship or Olympic Games levels.
  • Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
  • Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required.

Essential Qualifications

  • Nationally or Internationally recognised beach volleyball coaching accreditation or certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience coaching beach volleyball at the National / International level and a proven track record of coaching athletes to podium performances at international benchmark events.
  • A current SA driver’s licence and willingness to drive.

Facility & Operations Officer

Role Details

The Facility and Operations Officer contributes to the effective operational management of the facilities under the care and control of the Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing. This position is responsible for the effective planning and delivery of the portfolio’s facility management and operations. This involves maintaining a clear planning, delivery and reporting structure, optimising portfolio benefits from the available resources, implementing procurement processes, administration of the Across Government Facility Management Agreement (AGFMA), contract management, and engagement with a range of stakeholders, government, not for profit and commercial. A key focus will be providing strategic input and contributing to the planning and development of the asset portfolio.

Work Experience

Secondary students wishing to undertake work experience at the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing should submit their request in writing before the end of April each year. All applications will be reviewed early May with the outcomes notified to all applicants shortly thereafter. Work experience placements will be fulfilled between June to December each year.

The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) offers two (2) work experience opportunities for South Australian secondary students each year across the following business areas, for a maximum of three (3) days:

  • Infrastructure and Sector Capability
  • South Australian Sports Institute
  • Strategy and Investment

Recreation and sport is a popular choice for many students and the demand for work experience is significantly greater than the available opportunities.

Interested secondary students should prepare and Expression of Interest (EOI) including the following information:

  • What areas of recreation and sport you would like to gain work experience in (refer to the organisation structure)
