Whacko!

02 Oct 2018

They look fab from above – and they’re even better when you’re playing on them!

After years and years of hard-fought rallies, baseline slugfests and general grudge-match poundings, the community of Koongawa has had its wish granted – and its tennis courts rejuvenated.

It cost $33,000 to complete the job; the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing chipped in three-quarters of that ($24,000 to be precise) under Round 43 of our Active Club Program.

The result: three lovely, smooth, even courts, with increased traction for players indulging in a ‘friendly’ social match.

Not only does that mean the courts are safer - they’ll also last longer.

For the small farming community 200km west of Whyalla, that means the courts will continue to be a valuable social focus for many years to come:

“Having our courts upgraded helps our club to remain the social and active hub for our community.

“This encourages more people to get out and stay active.”

Winner!!
