SASI pole vaulter Kurtis Marschall sets sights on Commonwealth Games

03 Apr 2018

Adelaide pole vaulter and SASI athlete Kurtis Marschall sets his sights on the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

At 11 years of age Kurtis Marschall fell in love with pole vaulting, while watching his idol Steve Hooker win Gold for Australia at the Bejing Olympics.

Kurtis was a promising star from the start, it took years of training to master his technique.

After climbing the junior racks Kurtis’s breakthrough came in 2016, when he cleared 5.7 metres, giving him a spot on the Rio Olympic team.

With only days until Kurtis’s Commonwealth Games debut, Kurtis is in career best form and is targeting gold for Australia.
