A nice problem to have

01 Dec 2017

The Prospect and Enfield Kindergym has been helping children in Adelaide’s inner north learn and grow for a quarter of a century – and now it’s reached the highest level possible under the Office for Rec and Sport’s STARCLUB program!

Like other kindergyms, the Prospect and Enfield program offers children under five movement-based activities to promote fun and develop their coordination, strength and confidence. (Think music and dance, play activities, pretending, balancing, climbing, jumping, rolling, swinging, throwing and catching – and more!)

Having signed up to the STARCLUB Development Program a while ago, it’s now taken the next – and ultimate – step, gaining official STARCLUB recognition.

That means pretty much every aspect of its administration and organisation has been checked and double-checked and double-double-checked to make sure the kindergym is absolutely committed to best practice – and continuous development:

*             Detailed policies are in place and clearly displayed (risk management, extreme weather, equal opportunity etc)

*             A code of conduct is in place and enforced

*             Volunteers and staff are well-supported and their roles clearly defined

*             The club constitution is regularly reviewed.

It all adds up to an organisation that’s in fantastic health, and well-positioned for the future. The only problem, in fact, is that all its classes are booked up! (Next up, a waiting list policy??)
