COMMONWEALTH Games selection will be the driving force for SASI athletes when they compete at the coming Oceania Track Championships in Cambridge, New Zealand.
Featuring the best Under-19 and Elite riders in the Oceania area, the event will feature a jam-packed program between November 20 and 23.
SASI will have a strong hand at the event including the female team pursuit of Chloe Moran, Breanna Hargrave, Maeve Plouffe and Danielle McKinnirey, Maeve stepping up from juniors to senior ranks.
Hargrave said the Oceanias was an exciting part of the cycling season.
''Our team pursuit team is really looking forward to this competition,'' she said.
''Maeve is new to the team but she has shown she will step up to the competition.
''Individually I feel like I am in the best condition I have been for awhile and will be looking forward to doing the best we can do.
''I would love to podium in a couple of events.
''It will be very busy but we're looking forward to it.''
The rest of the SASI team includes Caitlin Ward, Thomas Clarke, Harrison Lodge, Joshua Harrison, Braden O'Shea, Jarrad Drizners and Cooper Sayers. Junior Leigh Hoffman also will compete in New Zealand.
SASI Head Cycling Coach Brett Aitken said the team was gearing up for a busy schedule.
''We are looking pretty good,'' he said. ''Most athletes tested (recently) and did PBs. I think we're moving in the right direction.
''Maeve will step up from the juniors to seniors and has come up from strong form at the junior worlds.
''It will be a really busy time for the riders. After Oceania they will be back for a week and then will go to Melbourne for the Omnium nationals (December 15). After that will be the road natioanls at the start of January.''
The Commonwealth Games will be held on the Gold Coast between April 4 and 15.
