Experienced sports administrator Ben Scales is making the switch from the bowling green to the netball court as the new Chief Executive Officer of Netball SA Board.
Previously the general manager of Bowls SA, Scales joins Netball SA having also held senior positions with the Woodville West Torrens Football Club and AFL Queensland.
``With a large participation base, netball plays a significant role in the community and provides opportunities for thousands of South Australians to be physically active each week,'' Scales said.
``I look forward to working with the NSA board and team at NSA to further grow and develop the sport in South Australia.
President of Netball SA, Graeme Gilbert said he was delighted that such an experienced sports administrator has accepted the role.
``Ben won the role over a very strong field of candidates,'' Gilbert said. ``He has extensive experience in managing and leading member based sporting organisations and this combined with his Masters in Business Administration, will make him a valuable asset for our organisation.''
Mr Scales will start in his new role on February 11 with 2013.
