Adelaide City Bikes: green, healthy and free

25 September 2012

City bikes

The Adelaide City Bikes program offers residents and vistors an alternative way to travel in and around the city, with the added benefits of healthy activity and building a cleaner, greener city.

The bicycles are available to borrow between 9am - 4.30pm from Adelaide City Council offices, Bike SA and seven other outlets (go to http://www.bikesa.asn.au/AdelaideCityBikes for addresses and phone numbers). Hire includes a helmet, which is legally required in SA, and a bicycle lock if required.

All you need to do is provide your current driver's licence or passport, which will be held as a deposit for the duration of the hire and given back to you when you return your bike.

The bikes can be used only during daylight hours. (If you wish to hire a bicycles overnight contact Bicycle SA on 08 8168 9999 to arrange a quote.)

Please note that bikes must be returned to same location where they were hired. In addition, the bikes will not be available to borrow on days when the forecast temperature is 38 degrees and above.
