Former Commonwealth Games gold medallist, track cyclist Jason Niblett has been appointed the new South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) Cycling Assistant Coach.
As a former national team cyclist, Mr Niblett brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience that he can pass onto his athletes.
“I am looking at targeting great results at the State and Oceania Titles in November this year and at the National Titles early next year with the aim to make national teams for the junior and senior World Cups and World Championships,” he said.
“I am a competitive person, so when one of my riders steps onto the track I see them as representing me, so of course I want to win.”
Jason has been working as the SASI track sprint coach since hanging up his bike in February after 13 years on the National Team.
He has now transitioned into full time duties with his appointment as Assistant Coach.
“My aim is to make it an easy transition for my athletes into the National squad when they are ready,” said Mr Niblett.
He joins the established SASI Cycling coaching team of head coach Tim Decker and assistant coach Ben Cook.
