STARCLUB helps fine-tune athletics club’s off-field performance

The Port Adelaide Athletics Club prides itself on its long tradition of achievement - but it also makes a point of not resting on its laurels.

Determined to stay strong off the track (and field) as well as on, four years ago it became a signed-up member of the STARCLUB family – and it’s extremely happy with the results!

The club says its values and practices were well aligned with the STARCLUB program when it gained accreditation in 2013 – but signing up has helped take it to another level of professionalism altogether.

One of the biggest benefits of ‘getting with the program’ has been a clearer vision of what’s needed to become even more successful, and stay that way.

Over the past four years that’s meant lots of action action action - including:

  • Formalising a strategic plan
  • Reviewing the PAAC Constitution
  • Developing a Volunteer Management and Induction Program
  • A big effort to promote community inclusion

The club says it’s made great use of the STARCLUB guide, and the STARCLUB staff (take a bow Damian Leonard! – and maybe a rest??).

Power on PAAC!
