Refurbished kitchen a winner at Willunga

They’re a very busy bunch at the Willunga Netball Club: four grade levels, a beginners’ competition, and a new ‘Walking Netball’ comp…

All of which means heaps and heaps of players – and a lot of bellies needing to be fed!

Thankfully, the club’s canteen is now in an even better position to satisfy that demand; at a cost of $32,000 it’s just been completely refurbished.

There’s:

* More space for the club’s volunteers (courtesy of some clever redesign work)

* New kitchen units (with loads more storage space)

* More energy-efficient lighting

* Free filtered water on tap

* New display units for hot and cold foods (the increased visibility has already led to an increase in sales).

The changes have given the club a more professional and modern look, and increased its local profile and appeal as a venue for hire.

Once again the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing was instrumental in making it all happen. ORSR contributed almost $21,000 to the project under Round 43 of the Active Club Program.
